Isomet is the world's leading producer of acousto-optic (AO) devices that are used in a wide variety of applications including graphic arts, semiconductor wafer inspection, military systems, materials processing, and biophotonics. The company headquarters is located in Springfield, VA with an operating subsidiary in the United Kingdom. Our major product line is acousto-optics; we also offer custom fiber-optic components and custom fabrication/A-R coating of most optical materials.
Acousto-optics

Isomet manufactures many different AO devices operating from 0.2-11 microns including:

-AO deflectors
-AO modulators/frequency shifters
-AO tunable filters and AO Q-switches

Many of our visible-wavelength AO devices incorporate PbMoO4 and TeO2; we grow both materials in house by the Czochralski method. We also offer reliable germanium AO devices for industrial use.Our LS600-1011 germanium AO deflector is rated for 600 W cw optical power at 9.27 microns!

We are a vertically integrated producer of AO devices. All critical manufacuring processes are performed in house: crystal growth and fabrication, vacuum bonding, and electrode deposition. As a result, we can produce AO devices (AO Q-switches, AO deflectors, AO modulators, AOTFs, etc.) in high quantity at reasonable cost. We have the proven capability to ship AO devices at a rate of over 1200 per month.
Fiber-optics
Isomet offers design, prototyping, and manufacturing of passive telecom components based on birefringent materials:

-interleavers, athermal birefringent filters, mux/demux, optical switches
We also offer fiber-optic assemblies for convenient light-coupling to our visible/near-infrared AO modulators and frequency-shifters.

Custom fabrication and A-R coating
We offer custom fabrication/polishing and anti-reflection coating (visible to near-IR) of most optical materials; we specialize in difficult-to-coat materials such as PbMoO4. 24-hour turnaround on coatings is available.
